If you want to always keep a youthful figure, you can. To achieve this you
must make exercise a way of life, and practise every day, every week, every month of the
year.
It is true that everything worthwhile in life is worth working hard for, and surely it
is worth a little hard work to achieve a super shapely body that walks well, a body full
of vitality that makes you feel happy to be alive.
Lotte Berk
With her dark kohl-rimmed eyes, pale face, crimson slash of a mouth
and thick German accent, she might have stepped straight out of the musical
Cabaret. She is Lotte Berk, guru of female fitness, and at 83 she still looks
terrific. In her customary chic uniform of black trousers and sweater, her body is still
as lean and lithe as that of the dancer she once was.
Jane Fonda may claim credit for the exercise fever that grips modern British women, but it
was Lotte Berk who really set it in motion. Since 1959 when she opened her studio in the
West End, she has evolved a tough series of exercises which she can prove give a woman of
any age the physique, stamina and discipline of a dancer.
